Hable began working with Alsager School in 2015.
Initially, we were working to migrate them onto Office 365. They were keen to save money on IT infrastructure and empower pupils and staff to work in new ways.
This project later morphed into something far more meaningful.
In collaboration with Microsoft, we worked with Alsager Partnership to help raise awareness of dementia.
Students from Alsager School were given the opportunity to lead a community art project. Combining aspects of Reminiscence therapy with art and digital Microsoft Sway workshops, run by us. Students then ran workshops with people in the local community and used the information gathered to create interactive, digital stories using Microsoft Sway.
The impact for families and individuals affected by dementia were truly wonderful and their innovative approach ranked them as one of the top 50 EdTech schools in 2019.
“The students have been fantastic and have made a significant impact to the lives of the couples we have met. Friendships have been made, stories shared, and the community has come together to support people living with dementia as one.”
- Sway Life Stories project, Alasger School
In order to showcase all of the fantastic work being produced by the students, the school needed somewhere to host it. We supported the school in creating a digital hub for the project, which can be enjoyed for years to come.
It’s publicly available, and can be accessed here: http://www.swaylifestories.com/
